List of inhabited localities in Kaliningrad Oblast, Russia, with their former names in German, Polish, and Lithuanian. After the former German regions of East Prussia were annexed to the Soviet Union, nearly all toponyms were given new Russian names.

Several collections of Roman Catholic parish registers (by diocese) and Lutheran and Baptist registers. Records from areas now Poland are also found under “Germany.” Some records are indexed on FamilySearch and/or other websites.

This website contains a list of records scheduled to be published and is arranged by archives. Place names have adjectival endings, so use the “control-f” search function to search for the beginning of the name. (i.e. “Lublin” is in the list as “w Lublinie =of/in Lublin).

Originated in Olszstyn (Allenstein, East Prussia) state digital archive. Search by German and Polish place name using the “Ctrl-F” search function. Includes civil registration and church records.

This website is in German, but readable with a basic German genealogical vocabulary. Places and dates are easy to read. Enter surname. Map with Russian name and colored scans of records appear. Finding actual record may be hard to find. (Record I looked at was no. 18 so I doubled the number to 36 and hit record 17 so that was close.
